I've only had it for a few hours, but so far, I'm loving it. I read a lot of criticism about it on the internet- mostly from "fans" who downloaded the leak and probably never got around to buying it themselves... Viginiti Tres, which most are interpreting as mere white noise filler, may have more overarching importance than meets the eye... you can definately hear some voices in there, but I can't make them out, I tried changing the speed, reversing it, everything I could think of...

I'm not going to go through it track by track- I wouldn't do that untill I knew every one of them by heart- but I'm enjoying chilling with this sound. It differs a lot from the Undertow/Opiate eras, when there was definately a less refined feel, but this sound has some more edge to it. But I feel something is... missing... it's almost too refined, yet not refined enough... there's no calm Parabol, but on the other end of the spectrum, there's no Jerk-Off, Ticks & Leeches style of anger... They've still got that inventive, new sound that they manage to come through with in every album, but... I definately need to listen to the album more before coming up with any more judgements.

Thoughts?

What is this 10,000 days? I've heard of it elsewhere, but I still don't know what it is.

Overall I think the album is pretty good. This album in my opinion is more harder than their previous ones. And I think it's the best out of them. These are my favorite tracks: Vicarious, Jambi, The Pot, and Right In Two. I especially like midway through "Jambi" where it starts building and building then transits into the solo. Awesome!

Right in Two is a favorite here too, but I like the Wings duo-- Part 1 is okay, but Part 2 is haunting... putting a few pieces of net-reading together, here's what I discovered-

"Judith Marie" is the name of Maynard's deceased mother; you may remember "Judith" as having been a very religious-oriented song from A Perfect Circle, another band Maynard sings in. Marie is her middle name, and Tool seems to have a tendency to reference middle names as song titles... I've heard rumors that "H." was the middle name of Maynard's son (just H, it doesn't stand for anything) and it also raises questions as to who "Jimmy" is. A Perfect Circle's "Judith" spoke against Christianity, but "Wings for Marie" is definately more oriented towards the pro Christianity side of things; I've heard that Maynard's mother was a very religious person. Whenever I hear him scream out "Judith Marie" at the end of the song, it sends a chill down my spine.

Keep in mind that all of this information is RUMOR. It is not guarenteed fact, just what I hear from friends and read on the net. It explains a lot if it is correct.

Is not maynards name a rearranged version of his 'real name'?

With this album i really get hthe sense that it is metaphorically autobiograhial... There is so much yet to learn about his yet.
